What did the vendors of practice management systems (PVS) say on LinkedIn last month? This page answers that for the 31 days from 25 August to 24 September 2026, for all 33 vendors on the list, with the original post behind every statement. It is written for everyone who works in this market or supplies it: marketing and sales at a vendor, consultants, associations, trade media. If you want to know how such an analysis is made and repeat it for your own market, the guide is at Track competitors on LinkedIn.

Practice management systems (PVS, from the German Praxisverwaltungssystem) are the software that medical, dental and psychotherapy practices in Germany use to manage patients, appointments, documentation and billing. The list is deliberately limited to the vendors. Regulators such as gematik, associations and trade media belong in any complete monitoring of this market, but they answer a different question: not “what do the vendors say” but “what is said about the market”.

Six observations

Each follows the same pattern: what the posts say, what follows from that, and what must not be concluded from it. The order is not a ranking.

Regulation reaches practices through the vendors too

On 1 September, Epicus picked up a deadline in a post of its own, “Did you know: from 1 October there will be no new health card without a connector update” (opens in a new tab), and pointed to the practice news of the KBV, the national association of statutory health insurance physicians, from 27 August. On the same day tomedo wrote about the contribution rate stabilization act and the pressure on fees (opens in a new tab), and psyprax picked up the KBV’s article series on IT security (opens in a new tab). Three weeks later, RED Medical reported that its e-prescription fallback had worked during two major outages of the telematics infrastructure in mid-September (opens in a new tab), and on 24 September tomedo reported the first controlled go-live of VSDM 2.0 (opens in a new tab), a new insurance data specification, together with gematik and a health insurer in two practices.

What you can read from this: Four vendors translated regulation into customer communication during the period, each in its own way: as a reminder of a deadline, as a reading of a new law, as proof that their own product caught an outage, or as a report of being first with a new specification. Reading only the vendors, you still learn which deadlines and requirements are occupying the market right now.

What you cannot read from this: The deadlines themselves, complete and reliable. For that, gematik, KBV and KZBV belong on the list as sources of their own. The vendor here is the messenger, not the sender.

One topic several vendors play at once: AI on the phone and in documentation

CompuGroup Medical made its AI phone assistant a topic several times during the period, from a customer quote on 25 August (opens in a new tab) to an announced new version on 12 September (opens in a new tab), alongside real-time documentation during the patient conversation (opens in a new tab). Indamed presented the AI phone assistant for MEDICAL OFFICE (opens in a new tab) on 3 September. tomedo announced an interface to the AI assistant of medflex (opens in a new tab) on 3 September and the integration of Mediform (opens in a new tab), which is to handle appointment and prescription requests on its own, on 22 September; in between, on 9 September, a post on what unchecked AI tools fed with patient data mean for data protection (opens in a new tab). On 17 September, medatixx announced a cooperation with HuCa GmbH (opens in a new tab) to bring an AI system for clinical decision support into its practice software.

What you can read from this: AI in everyday practice work is not one vendor’s topic this month but the market’s, in two forms: the phone and patient requests on one side, documentation and decision support on the other. The route is striking: two of the four vendors bring the AI in through partners rather than building it themselves. Anyone selling into this market has a documented answer to the question of what the market is talking about right now.

What you cannot read from this: Who is further ahead with these functions. A post shows what a vendor wants to say, not what its software can do.

Switching and upgrading: the same motive at four vendors

Within two weeks, four vendors talked about switching practice software. CompuGroup Medical on 14 September: “Most practices do not switch their software because the effort seems impossible to calculate” (opens in a new tab), followed on 21 September by an offer with a 36-month price guarantee, three months without software fees and a welcome bonus (opens in a new tab). On 17 September, medatixx published five posts within a few minutes about an upgrade offer for users of its older products (opens in a new tab), “same price, new software”. On 23 September, tomedo doubled the discount on data conversion for members of partner associations (opens in a new tab) from 50 to 100 percent, limited until the end of the year. Dampsoft, a dental vendor, asked on 8 September what practices do when development of a dental software is discontinued (opens in a new tab), and wrote on 11 September that a switch “sounds like risk” (opens in a new tab) but need not be.

What you can read from this: In September, switching practice software is a sales argument in the medical and the dental segment at the same time, and three of the four vendors attach a concrete offer to it: a price guarantee, an upgrade at the old price, free data migration. The wording targets the same worry, the effort. This is the kind of signal you only see when you lay several sources from the same period side by side.

What you cannot read from this: Whether practices actually switch more often. That takes market data, not posts.

Unique positions: what only one source says

Some posts had no counterpart from other vendors during the period. From 22 to 24 September, Duria eG presented third-party providers that plug into its software on three consecutive days (opens in a new tab). Doc Cirrus announced on 21 September that it was becoming part of the ETERNO Group (opens in a new tab), the only announcement of its kind in the period. T2med promoted its own API (opens in a new tab) on 8 September. Indamed reported an award in the practice software category (opens in a new tab) on 16 September. On 17 September, abasoft announced “something new” (opens in a new tab) for 14 October without saying what. And tomedo was the only vendor that held its own partner meeting (opens in a new tab) with around a hundred participants during the period and wrote about it.

What you can read from this: A row with a single occupied cell in the topic matrix is a unique position, at least in this month and on this channel. Changes of ownership and awards are such rows. Open interfaces and partner networks no longer quite are: Duria, T2med and tomedo all played the topic, but in very different ways, from presenting individual partners to a meeting with a hundred participants.

What you cannot read from this: That the other vendors have no interfaces or partners. They did not talk about them during the period. That is a difference.

A good third of the posts are about the company itself

63 of the 165 posts carry the topic Personnel: job ads, company runs, anniversaries, team photos. Dampsoft ran a series on its 40th anniversary (opens in a new tab) across the whole period; tomedo wished its parent company a happy birthday. According to their own posts, ifa systems (opens in a new tab) and Epicus (opens in a new tab) took part in the B2Run company run, and HASOMED held a charity beach volleyball tournament. At Teemer, every post in the period was a job ad.

What you can read from this: For many of these companies, LinkedIn is also an employer channel. Anyone using the channel for market monitoring has to filter this share out, or a third of the observation consists of running shoes. At the same time the share is information in itself: it says something about what a vendor uses the channel for. At Dampsoft nine of 14 posts carry the topic, at tomedo three of 17.

What you cannot read from this: Whether a vendor with many job ads is growing. A job ad is not a hire; the cases on this website go into that.

The segments speak differently

During the period, the dental vendors were present at regional dental congresses, LinuDent for instance in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (opens in a new tab) and Saxony-Anhalt (opens in a new tab), and wrote about everyday practice work in the narrow sense: solutio about documentation for practice inspections (opens in a new tab) and a bonus query in billing (opens in a new tab), EVIDENT about handing over a practice (opens in a new tab). The medical vendors talked about the telematics infrastructure, AI and patient communication; tomedo, active in both segments, sat in between with patient information in up to 17 languages through a Thieme interface (opens in a new tab). The psychotherapy segment was quieter: medatixx advertised psyx (opens in a new tab) in several posts on 31 August, Epicus wrote about World Suicide Prevention Day (opens in a new tab), ergosoft about its own customer service (opens in a new tab).

What you can read from this: The segments share the regulation but not the topics of daily work. If you follow a vendor active in several segments, read its posts by segment, not by vendor.

What you cannot read from this: That psychotherapy vendors have less to say. They said less on LinkedIn. Their newsletter or blog may give a different picture.

Who talks about what: the topic matrix

The table shows, for the five vendors with the most posts, which topics their LinkedIn posts carried during the period. Topics were assigned automatically at collection time, and a post can carry more than one topic, which is why the column sums exceed the number of posts. “Others” groups the 14 further pages that published during the period.

Topic CGM medatixx tomedo Dampsoft solutio Others (14) Total
Products 24 13 8 3 8 24 80
Personnel 11 6 3 9 4 30 63
Events 11 5 5 2 4 20 47
Insights and thought leadership 12 7 3 4 6 11 43
Customers 9 6 1 5 0 8 29
Partnerships 1 3 6 2 1 7 20
Compliance and regulation 2 2 4 0 1 5 14
Company and strategy 0 0 2 2 0 1 5
Posts in the period 36 26 17 14 12 60 165

How to read the matrix: a row with many occupied cells is a topic the market shares (Products, Personnel, Events). A row with few occupied cells is a topic only individual sources occupy (Company and strategy). A column shows what a source uses the channel for: at CGM two thirds of the posts are product posts, at tomedo six of 17 posts carry the topic Partnerships, at Dampsoft nine of 14 the topic Personnel. That is not a judgment; it is the role the vendor gives its channel.

The distribution across the weeks was uneven: 22 posts in the six days to 30 August, then 35, 35 and 44 in the three full September weeks, and 29 in the four days to 24 September. The peak in the week of 14 September coincides with events: the Saxony-Anhalt dental congress, meet medatixx, tomedo’s partner meeting.

The same data as a dossier

The month can also be read without prose. The dossier below is the analysis of the same 167 entries as the tool produced it, with key figures, the shift in topics against the two preceding months and the posts that shaped the period. It is unedited and written from the perspective of a user who would be part of the market; that is why it shows “0 own” sources. The dossier is in German.

What this page does not show

  • Regulators, associations, trade media. They are deliberately not part of the list. What gematik, the KBV or a trade journal published in the same period, this page does not say; anyone who needs their deadlines and positions follows them as sources of their own.
  • Reach and effect. How many people saw or commented on the posts was not collected. The page describes what was said, not what landed.
  • Personal profiles. Posts by managing directors or employees on their own profiles are not included. In many markets there is more there than on the company page.
  • Vendors without a LinkedIn page. Twelve of the 33 vendors are not visible on this channel. FREY, Dios or InterData speak through their blogs; Smarty published two training videos on YouTube during the period and nothing else. This page says nothing about their communication.
  • Other channels of the vendors with a page. tomedo published 17 posts on LinkedIn during the period, alongside around three dozen training videos on YouTube and a newsletter. The watch list records for every source which channels it uses; only LinkedIn is analyzed here.
  • Completeness of the market. The list is a selection to the best of our knowledge, not an official register. If a vendor is missing, it is missing from all figures.
  • Product quality. Nothing here says which software is better.

The watch list

33 vendors, as of 24 September 2026. “LinkedIn” gives the number of distinct posts from the company page in the period; a dash means no company page is on the list. “Other channels” are the channels followed besides LinkedIn.

The list is sorted by number of posts. A newsletter counts as a channel once it is subscribed, even if no issue arrived during the period. If a vendor that belongs in the market is missing, that is a fault of the list, not of the method; the author welcomes pointers.

Frequently asked questions

What is a practice management system?

A practice management system (in Germany: Praxisverwaltungssystem, PVS) is the software a medical, dental or psychotherapy practice uses to manage patients, appointments, documentation and billing and to connect to the national telematics infrastructure. In Germany the market is divided by specialty; vendors for dental practices need different approvals from vendors for medical practices.

Why are gematik, the KBV and trade media missing?

Because this page answers the question of what the vendors themselves say. Regulators, associations and trade media answer the question of what is said about the market. That is a second circle with a role of its own in the watch list. For deadlines and requirements they are the senders; the vendors are only the messengers.

How was this analyzed, and can it be repeated?

All posts from the 21 company pages in the period were collected, duplicates removed, every post assigned one to three topics from a fixed set, and the results read in a matrix of sources and topics. The six steps, repeatable with any tool, are in the guide Track competitors on LinkedIn.

Will this analysis be continued?

The value lies in the comparison: which topic grows, which fades, who becomes newly loud. Whether and at what rhythm the PVS market will be analyzed here again is the author’s decision; pointers to missing vendors and channels are welcome.
